What are Recruit Training
& Basic Orientation?
Recruit training is the introductory course for Sea Cadets, and Basic Orientation is the introductory course for League Cadets. These courses focus on Navy fundamentals, physical training, marching, military bearing, customs/courtesies, and basic seamanship.
Upon completion of Recruit Training, cadets are partially eligible for promotion and may attend the majority of other advanced trainings offered, assuming the other requirements have been met.
How to Register
Cadets should follow the following steps to register for MAA 2018 NAS Lemoore:
- Check the minimum requirements in the training portal (we will waive the 6-week enrollment requirement, email if needed)
- Have your CO or Training Officer request your billet in Magellan
- When your billet is confirmed by the COTC, you may make your payment on this site using the Payment tab above
- Upload training documents to Magellan. No service jackets required.
- Once payment is submitted and training docs are uploaded, your billet may be Approved by the COTC
- Once Approved, review the Training Information page
- Upload signed orders to Magellan prior to training start
